Traffic. Calming?

The City of Calgary is holding an Open House to inform us about proposed changes on 2nd Street SW, the street behind us here at the Purple Perk.
These will include a cycle track on both sides of the street. The proposal is for 2nd Street to remain 2-way vehicle traffic and for parking on the west side of the street. Some new pedestrian crosswalks and curb extensions at intersections are proposed.
The Open House will be held at the Cliff Bungalow – Mission Community Centre on Wednesday, October 30th.

1990 saw Calgary’s first Pride Parade. Participants were nowhere near as plentiful as today, and in fact things were so different back then some of the marchers wore masks to hide their identities.
